While having the opportunity to study abroad in Italy early last year, I went on a weekend trip to Pompeii. At first, we thought the day would be a dreary one exploring the ancient ruins of a city that was destroyed by a volcano in 79 AD. Turns out the storm clouds created a scene that set the tone in the beginning first walking through this town, only to turn into a beautiful sunny day after the clouds broke to honor the spirit of the people that lived there so long ago. I knew that this was a moment that couldn’t be captured any typical day, and really embraced the story it told about its ancient past.
