“Shared Border, Shared Dreams,” a graphic design project from 2013 was installed in the lobby of the City-Council Building downtown. The installation was open to the public through July 24th as part of Mayor Peduto’s “Welcoming Pittsburgh” initiative to attract a diverse immigrant population to our city. “Shared Border, Shared Dreams” informs, raises awareness and promotes an understanding of the obstacles that undocumented immigrants face in the U.S. when establishing and attaining personal goals.
A Press Event was held on Tuesday, June 23rd at 10 a.m. Various members of the faith community, immigrant community, and the Mayor’s staff attended. Members of immigrant community, the Mayor’s Office, La Roche College President Candace Introcaso and graphic design professors Beth Shirrell and Neha Agarwal spoke at the press event.
