In the state of Pennsylvania, Interior Designers are currently limited in their practice of interior design. IDLCPA is an organization dedicated to advocating legislation that will allow interior designers to expand into areas from which they are currently excluded. Some of these areas include stamping, signing, and sealing documents for permit, and bidding on state and federal interior design contracts. (idlcpa.org)
Each year, student representatives from various design schools across the state attend Design Day at the Capitol building in Harrisburg. Among the students this year were La Roche College interior design seniors Fabian Carrazana and Desirae Pope. All of the students showcased projects from their various design studio courses, and engaged with representatives and senators from all over the state to explain the importance of the profession.
