Each fall, Graphic Design students enrolled in Senior Design Seminar collaborate with and complete work for various startup or non-profit organizations. This year one of the clients included Hiber, a startup developing smart HVAC technology to increase HVAC efficiency as well as occupant comfort. Hiber is one of the companies hosted by the hardware and robotics startup accelerator, AlphaLab Gear.
The collaboration kicked off in October with a hands-on session of information gathering and discovery facilitated by the design students. Students then worked in teams to present and deliver a comprehensive branding and promotional package to the startup.
Pieces developed during the design and planning process included an identity system, branded stationery, a collateral package including an informational brochure and various audience-targeted print pieces, a packaging concept, a web site and an app interface concept. The completed work was delivered to Hiber at the conclusion of the semester.
